The Olusegun Obasanjo Centre for African Futures bears the name of a statesman whose life has been inextricably linked to the history of modern Africa. Obasanjo’s intellectual and cultural work has engaged the central questions of African transformation: sovereignty, democracy, regional cooperation, economic justice and the dignity of human life.
By carrying his name, OOCAF acknowledges a lifetime of thought and action that insists Africa must define its own future. His books, speeches and policies form an archive of African political imagination, one that continues to shape generational dialogue.
At OOCAF is a resource for critical work. The Centre’s research, residencies and public programmes take seriously the intellectual questions Obasanjo raised, and press them forward into the challenges of the present and the uncertainties of the future.
